Principal Analyst, Wireless Infrastructure
Daryl brings over 10 years of telecommunications research experience to Current Analysis. As Principal Analyst covering Wireless Infrastructure, Daryl focuses on tracking, analyzing and reporting on developments impacting mobile infrastructure and mobile networking: 2G and 3G RAN and packet core along with, LTE, metro-scale Wi-Fi and WiMAX.
Prior to joining Current Analysis, Daryl was Senior Analyst at In-Stat, where he was the primary analyst for the company’s Wireless Broadband Evolution research service. In that position Daryl’s responsibilities included research around infrastructure, device, and carrier strategies as it applied to mobile broadband. Before joining In-Stat, Daryl worked at Cable & Wireless, where he was Manager for Marketing and Competitive Intelligence. In that position he worked with both product management and corporate executives to develop the company’s strategy for its various voice and data networking services. He also assisted the company’s Legal Department in evidentiary research for Merger & Acquisition-related government proceedings. In addition, Mr. Schoolar has experience in the competitive energy market. In that field he worked in sales and marketing for APS Energy Services.
Daryl Schoolar is a well-known analyst in the telecommunications industry, and has been quoted in several national publications. These publications include the LA Times, Investors Business Daily, Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and The Economist. He has also been interviewed on CNET Radio, CNBC, and Techtv. Mr. Schoolar has been a frequent speaker at such industry events as the United State Telecommunications Association, Telecommunications Industry Association, Mobile World Congress, WiMAX World and the Wireless Communications Association International. Mr. Schoolar holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech.
